2018 Maserati GranTurismo MC
While Maserati’s GranTurismo is rightly seen as a viable alternative to other luxury sports coupes, not all GranTurismos are created equal. For some GranTurismo buyers, the basic helping wasn’t a big enough serve. So for those demanding few, Maserati brewed up this car.
As the MC Edition of the GranTurismo, this car gets a carbon-fibre bonnet complete with vents, 20-inch forged, Trofeo-specification wheels, Titanium brake calipers, specific blacked-out window surrounds and a lighter (and allegedly even louder) exhaust system. Speaking of which, the Ferrari-derived normally-aspirated V8 in the GranTurismo is not only the model’s signature tune, but is also reckoned to possess one of the most sonorous production-car exhaust notes in the world.
On Track Capabilities
The other change to MC specification is the replacement of the standard, adjustable suspension for a non-adjustable, stiffer arrangement that is much better suited to track-days and serious high-speed motoring.
Luxe Performance Coupe
While the engine was not modified for the MC Edition, the reduced weight (largely a result of the carbon-fibre bonnet) did, in fact, allow the MC to cover ground slightly more quickly than the other GranTurismo’s, and cements the MC’s place in the pantheon of true high-performance luxury coupes.
Features include: MC Edition, factory carbon-fibre exterior package, navigation, dual-zone climate-control, cruise-control, red brake calipers, 20-inch forged alloy wheels, factory sports exhaust, Alcantara interior, alloy pedals, reversing camera, Bluetooth connectivity, paddle-shifters.
