2015 Jaguar F-Type R AWD
When Jaguar moved to make that very engineering change to the AWD version of its F-Type R, it was clever enough to invest the time and engineering to make the end result, more, not less than the rear-drive car it started with. As a result, the AWD F-Type R still offers up the thrills we’ve always associated with the brawny, supercharged V8 coupe, but adds to those attributes with more grip and even more lurid acceleration.
As a result, the AWD F-Type can accelerate from rest to 100 km/h in less than four seconds (the factory coyly claims 4.1) and joins that very exclusive club of factory-standard cars that can cover 400 metres in a time of less than 12 seconds. Meantime, if you were thinking about a trip to the snowfields or even just a drive on a wet day, that all-wheel-drive grip endows the big coupe with a whole new set of traction abilities, not to mention the inherent safety of having so much tyre grip. Combined with the electronic locking rear differential and electronic driver aids, the AWD gives the car a vice-like grip on whatever surface it happens to be covering.
It’s a classic case of having your cake and eating it too, especially in the case of this 2015 example which presents with extremely low kilometres showing and in showroom condition. The dark metallic grey paint gives the car an element of stealth, while the classic black interior is accentuated with red stitching and carbon-fibre interior trim pieces. This car is also fitted with Jaguar’s carbon-ceramic brake package along with yellow calipers.
Features include: cruise-control, dual-zone climate-control, stop-start, 20-inch alloy wheels, bi-modal exhaust, LED lighting, Xenon headlights, headlight washers, parking sensors, navigation, carbon-ceramic brakes.
