2016 Lamborghini Aventador Miura Homage
1 of 50
It’s often said that a company that doesn’t remember where it came from has no chance of knowing where it’s going. There’s no danger of that oversight at Lamborghini, and this car is proof of that. One of just 50 produced for the entire planet, the Lamborghini Aventador Miura Homage is a very exclusive member of an equally rarefied club. It pays homage to the fabulous Lamborghini Miura of 1966, and was commissioned to commemorate 50 years since the mid-engined Miura arrived to redefine what it was to be a supercar.
The Golden Treatment
The most obvious element of the tribute is the gold lower-body treatment, accurately mirroring the Miura timeless 60s sensibilities. But even beyond that, the two cars, separated by five decades, still have much in common. They are both mid-engined, for instance, and both feature a normally-aspirated V12 engine to provide the power and the soundtrack that continues to characterise many a modern supercar.
Twice the Power
Time and technology have, of course, marched on in 50 years, so the Aventador not only features all-wheel-drive for massive grip and handling, its engine is more than half as large again as the Miura’s and produces almost exactly twice the horsepower. Enough, in fact, to propel it from rest to 100 km/h in under three seconds and on to a theoretical top speed of 350 km/h.
A collector’s item of the highest order, this Miura Homage is in showroom condition with very few kilometres showing and is an opportunity to purchase a model that will rarely, if indeed ever, be offered for sale in this country again.
Features include: Full carbon-fibre interior, carbon exterior package, transparent engine-bay cover, satin-black badges, ceramic coated exhaust tip, Miura 50 identification, gold wheels, gold accents, keyless entry and start, selectable drive modes, heated seats, reverse camera.
