2018 Aston Martin Vantage
The new-for 2018 Aston Martin Vantage represented the brand’s new technical direction aimed at improving efficiency, performance and the human-machine interface. That involved brand-new infotainment functionality and control as well as a move to an ultra-efficient four-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine. The new look, meantime, speaks for itself.
So, as well as reduced fuel consumption and tailpipe emissions, the Vantage was able to sprint from nought to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds as well as marching on to a top speed of 314 km/h.
To ensure the handling is appropriate for such straight-line performance, the new eight-speed automatic transmission has been mounted at the rear of the car, transaxle-style, to promote a 50/50 weight distribution. The Vantage retains the aluminium construction of its forebears but was the first Aston Martin to use an electronically-controlled differential that also allowed for torque vectoring.
This low-kilometre example was highly specified from the factory including special-order paint, metallic-finish leather trim, forged wheels in gloss-black, sports seats and steering wheel, carbon-fibre interior highlights and heated and ventilated seats.
Bluetooth connectivity, heated and ventilated sports seats, multi-function screen, torque-vectoring, electronic differential, dual-zone climate-control, digital radio, LED lighting, Keyless entry and start, memory seats, navigation, tyre-pressure monitoring.
