2018 Bentley Continental GT
Subject of Amazement
The Bentley Continental GT has not gained its reputation as a subject of amazement by accident. A quick glance through some of the more fantastic specifications is a lesson in how to make an impact. For instance, the new Continental GT (of which this car is an example with just delivery kilometres showing) has an interior featuring more than ten square-metres of wood with intricate hand-carved inlays. The upholstery was created from the hides of nine bulls, all raised in locations where there is no barbed-wire (to avoid blemishes). More than 2.8 kilometres of thread is required to stitch those hides together. Amazing? And that’s just the interior.
Grip and Shove
The driveline is also a rich vein of wonder with a twin-turbocharged W12 engine providing enormous performance while an eight speed transmission and all-wheel-drive platform ensure potent grip in all conditions.
This particular car is fitted with Bentley’s optional packages including Driving Specification, City Specification and Touring Specification, which bring with them fitments including adaptive cruise control, night vision, a top view camera, road sign recognition and much, much more.
The exterior of the car is finished in Onyx with a quilted interior in a combination of Beluga and Linen upholstery. Traditional touches such as the organ-stop controls remain to remind you of the Continental GT’s rich heritage, while modern fitments such as the rotating display unit in the dashboard will ensure the GT never loses its ability to amaze.
Features include: Lane assist, night vision, head-up display, 21-inch alloy wheels, quilted leather and leather headliner, sports pedals, LED welcome lamps, chromed lower grilles, battery charger adaptor, over mats, two tone leather trim, heated duo tone steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, forward collision alert.
