2018 Ferrari 488 Spider
Not Your Ordinary Ferrari
It might look like a traditional Ferrari with its mid-mounted-engine proportions and superb red paintwork, but the 488 Spider is also the beneficiary of the latest automotive technology at the same time. Modern computer-aided design has allowed for a convertible to be just as torsionally rigid as the coupe with which it shares its basic platform.
That same smart-design technology has also allowed for a folding metal roof to replace the old-school cloth top of traditional convertibles, giving the 488 the security of a coupe as well as the drop-top’s fun factor. And under the engine cover, modern design and computer management has allowed for a turbocharged engine that makes more power and torque than its non-turbo predecessors, yet also consumes less fuel.
Beyond the 488 Spider’s resulting performance and handling, this particular car was the recipient of some carefully chosen factory options, starting with the exterior. Those start with the matt-black diamond-cut alloy wheels and extend to the carbon-fibre front spoiler, carbon-fibre air-ducts, side-splitters and wheel-caps and the factory sports exhaust system. The car was also ordered with a suspension lifter and Ferrari’s adaptive lighting system.
Inside, the headrests in the leather and Alcantara trimmed cabin have been enhanced with embroidered prancing horse logos, special stitching throughout the interior and Ferrari’s factory-option Goldrake race-seats. Safety has also been enhanced with the addition of front and rear parking sensors and a reversing camera.
Features include: Adaptive lighting system, carbon-fibre exterior body-kits, diamond-cut alloy wheels, dual-zone air-conditioning, Goldrake race-seats, leather and Alcantara upholstery, factory sports exhaust, front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, special stitching, selectable drive modes.
