2018 Porsche Panamera 4 Sport Turismo
Out of the Box
Porsche’s original Panamera was really something out of the box for the legendary sports car manufacturer. In fact, apart from the Cayenne SUV of a few years earlier, the Panamera was Porsche’s first shot at a four door, its first big sedan and a first attempt at taking on the established players in the long-wheelbase limousine market. But true to Porsche form, the resulting car was not only a real contender in that particular market, it was also every inch a Porsche.
The Unstoppable Sportback
This car uses the efficient, yet still characterful, three-litre V6 engine, which not only delivers surprising fuel economy, but also the appropriate acceleration and high-speed cruising ability that characterised the Panamera’s design brief from day one. Those who doubt the ability of a three-litre engine to propel a full sized, four seat luxury car should get to know turbocharged technology and understand that size is no barrier to performance in the 21st Century. This car also features the later eight-speed dual clutch transmission for greater efficiency and shift speed. All-wheel-drive grip is the other piece of the puzzle when it comes to moving people and their luggage with style, pace and security.
The Real Deal
It is, of course, inside where the Panamera really earned its stripes, offering up luxurious accommodation for four adults (this car is actually configured as a five-seater as well) including a double panoramic sunroof, and all the ergonomic and convenience upgrades of the 2018 specification.
This particular car is also heavily optioned with lane change assist, front and rear heated seats, a carbon fibre interior trim package, tinted tail lights, 21-inch alloy wheels, as well as little touches such as Porsche factory floor mats and even sill protectors in carbon fibre.
Features include: Heated seats, 21-inch wheels and tyres, carbon-fibre interior package, lane-change assist, double panoramic sunroof, 360-degree overhead camera, LED lights, leather trim, all-wheel-drive, keyless entry and start.
