2016 Jaguar F-Type SVR Convertible
A head turner
Jaguar performance and exclusivity does not get much finer than this head-turning F-Type SVR Convertible with full ‘works’ treatment from the cluey lads at Jaguar’s $40 million Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) in Coventry, England.
Not only are SVO Jaguars a rare sight in Australia, but to find SVO treatment bestowed upon a Convertible is quite remarkable. The SVO expertise is evident everywhere on this wild cat, from its engine to suspension to aerodynamics to brakes and body.
Speed and agility
The feline heart of this open-top sports luxury car with its supercharged 5.0-litre engine develops well over 400 kW. Mated to an eight-speed sports automatic gearbox, this cat digs all four sharp paws into the tarmac to spring to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.
Ingenious rear wing
The beautiful rear carbon fibre wing is ingenious, adapting its function as required to either reduce drag for higher straight-line speed or increase downforce for greater cornering stability.
Loaded with class
The interior is all class with gorgeous, body-hugging quilted leather seats and a soft plush suede binnacle cover and centre console top section. And if your mood commands a different kind of music to the booming V8 soundtrack, just crank up the volume on the top-end (British, of course!) Meridian sound system. With the F-Type SVR, Jaguar set out to build – quite literally – a 200 mph (320 km/h) super sports car. And it did so, in stunning fashion.
